my remote broke this weekend, and with multiple tvs i always wanted to have an app for this anyway
so i checked the appstore
and every remote app wants a subscription, with the most predatory pricing as well
pretty sure the whole business model is older people forgetting to cancel
so i built my own with claude in like 15 minutes
works on all my tvs, connects automatically, fully local and with zero cost
kind of makes me wonder why those utility apps are not disrupted yet?
